Our Childrens' College Funds: Some friends and family have asked about making donations to our childrens' college savings plans. Ricky (in 3rd grade) and Kara (just starting kindergarten) have a number of years before thinking about career choices, but to better prepare, we have opened and regularly contribute ot their 529 college savings accounts.

American Cancer Society: It was complications from cancer that ultimately cut Kristin's life short. She also lost her mother, Mary Bures, to a similar disease.

The American Cancer Society (ACS) is a nationwide voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer. They provide research grants and assistance for patients, family, friends, survivors, and caretakers affected by all types of cancer.

Guardian Angel Basset Rescue: Kristin recently lost a pet Basset Hound to canine cancer. She and our pet, Chloe, were very close. We've previously participated in their annual "waddle" event, raising funds for the charity.

The Guardian Angel Basset Rescue (GABR) rescues bassett hounds found in bad situations across Illinois, Missouri, and Indiana. They provide health care, facilitate foster care, and arrange for long-term owners. They also take guardianship when bassett owners go into assisted living or otherwise can't care for their pets.
